Director: Illana Stein

 ILLANA STEIN is a freelance director originally from Texas who now resides in NYC. NYC Directing credits include: Ten Year Twilight (written by Crystal Skillman), Besties (Working Theater Directors Salon), The Boat House (Staged Reading, Sanguine Productions). Other directing credits include Emma, Two Rooms (Staged Reading, Amphibian Stage Productions), Darker (2011 Cincinnati Fringe Festival; Critic’s Pick) Home Free! (Oregon Shakespeare Festival Midnight Project), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, In Love with Shakespeare (Cincinnati Shakespeare Company educational tours), Burying Barbie, The Woolgatherer, and As You Like It. As an Assistant director Ms. Stein has worked at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Yale Repertory Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Hangar Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. Ms Stein was Assistant to the Artistic Director for 3 years at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company where she served as resident assistant director/dramaturg on over 20 productions and assisted with casting.  Ms. Stein will be a member of the 2012 Lincoln Center Directors Lab.  She has a BFA in Drama from the University of Oklahoma.
